Formerly a top fashion model at 5'10'' tall. Carey was a favorite with the top American designers, including Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father, who was a renowned scientist who received the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists 1979 Scientist of Year award, is an accomplished geoscientist. The father of Carey was a geologist and traveled the globe as a part of his professional career. When she was attending in the University of Colorado at part-time and was able to catch the attention of a Ford model Agency representative in New York. The model lived in France briefly, in Paris and Bordeaux. Then she returned in New York for her college studies as well as to develop her career as a model. She attended full-time classes in New York University, obtaining her major in Literature while working on modeling assignments. Her interest grew in acting, and began training at the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. The year 1986 was the year she had her first acting role, a bit part in Club Paradise, with Robin Williams. Her hobbies include doing white-water rafting, skiing, wind-surfing and climbing rocks.
